Turtle Dove at Fen Drayton
The gentle purring noise was unmistakably the sound of a Turtle Dove, it was some distance away so not a clear shot but so pleased we saw this bird. We also heard one possibly two, hidden in an enormous Oak tree in full leaf along the rough track leading to the bird hide overlooking the lake.
Deer at Leighton Moss RSPB
There were a few deer showing themselves nicely the day we visited Leighton Moss. It was so hot they were happy to find shade in the reeds, under the trees or to cool down and take a drink in the water. Photos were taken towards end of June, only just got around to processing them!
Seed head experiment
Experimental work in progress! Set up black card background on kitchen table, using a seed head (not sure what plant?) from a neighbours garden I took this photo. Think I may need to use some spot lighting on it to enhance the detail.
