Bearded Tit at Frampton Marsh RSPB
We watched an unknown bird fly from the edge of the reeds on our left then in to the reeds in the distance to the right. It was very agile, and moved very quickly so we could see streaks of colour but still not sure how to identify it. Thankfully my camera solved the mystery. Avocet and chick at Leighton Moss RSPB
Avocet and chick photographs were taken at the salt marsh reserve from the Eric Morecambe Hide. We were also lucky to see a huge flock of Knot here. Earlier in the afternoon when we were at the main Leighton Moss site we viewed the Knot display from a distance, we had assumed we were watching a Starling murmuration! What a stunning display.

Leighton Moss RSPB have a 9m high viewing tower which is open to visitors. The platform gives fabulous views across the reed beds to be able to see the Marsh Harriers.
Cettis Warbler at Leighton Moss
We observed this bird from the hide at Leighton Moss for quite a while. Every time it flew furtively in to the cover of the shrub it made the distinctive noise of Cettis Warbler.
