St Marks Fly at Langford Lowfields

Mosquito? Not sure what this insect is but it seemed larger than our regular mosquitoes?  There were several flying in and around the Salix Triandra?  My photograph unfortunately does not really give enough definition. I googled the image, the result came back as possible Firefly?

Orange Tip Butterfly at Langford Lowfield

Orange Tip Butterfly female,  the male is obviously easier to identify.  This one had me foxed until I saw M&F together, every day is a school day!!  Beautiful veins on the underside of wings too.

Hedgehog AKA Mr Prickles

"Mr Prickles" or maybe Mrs Prickles?!  Keeps visiting the garden and eating any remaining nuts that Roy has left out for the birds.  One morning Prickles was so tired he had a little lay down on the wall in the sun.  It was a perfect opportunity to take a photograph of his beautiful feet.

Red Legged Partridge

Surprise visit from two Red Legged Partridge in our front garden.  After half an hour foraging in the flower beds they wandered back down the drive!
